Government is not cared for Discontents on Human Rights
According to Human Rights Report 2011 published by Human Rights Watch, people who express their ideas are heard in Turkey. Over 90 countries are examined in the report and followings are the conclusions for Turkey:
Early and Forced Marriage Almanac of Flying Broom
The aim of the almanac is summarized by Doğan as “creating awareness about early and forced marriages, discussing the topic in parliamentary and in public, contributing for solution processes”. Parallel with the aim, “Early Age and/or Forced Marriage Almanac 2010” which is continued for 5 years is published by Flying Broom Women Communication and Research Association. The almanac includes 80 new from the World and Turkey in the sense of struggles and solutions of “3rd page of newspaper”.
They are not in public!
Only 100 thousand of 8.5 million disabled people can contribute to public area. In İstanbul, 38 thousand visually impaired of 40 thousand are cannot be out of home due to insufficient conditions.
People from Munzur Walked Against Dam
In Tunceli, the protest against constructing dam is realized by the support of crafts, taxi drivers, and minibus drivers. “Against Pülümür Dam” mass meeting consisted of10 thousand participants which is organized by civil society organizations and mayors.
“Double Language Life” is Increased the Interest for Kurdish
The people who apply for Kurdish education to Yüksekova KURDİ-DER (Kurdish Language Research and Development Association) increased with the debades of “double language”.
The protest for Loç Valley is successfully completed
People from Loç Valley and their supporters completed their sitting protest which maintains for 28 days with the decision of stay of execution. From Loç Valley Platform Zafer Keçin mentioned strongly that if any attempt is performed against the valley, they will gradually increase their protests. Moreover, it is announced by Loç Valley Protection Platform that:
International Amnesty Association: “No sale for Pepper Spray”
The Association made attention to abusive and right-contrast behaviors of pepper spray by security power. According to Fırat News Agent International Amnesty Association published a detailed report on gun trade of G-8 countries which the strongest attention goes to Germany.
Unprotected Wetlands of Ayvalık
Due to unplanned construction Wetlands of Ayvalık damaged; even though it is the life main source of the area. The boundary of wetlands is waters that is natural or artificial, permanent or seasonal, sweet, bitter or salty, stagnant or flowing water bodies, swamps. Wetland is the reserving for ground water, protecting from flood, conserving local climate, purifying toxic waste. Moreover, it supplies work opportunity in a ecological way and supplies life chance for water animals.
Attention to Mothers: There are rights of Migrant Women!
23 civil society organizations made complaint about anneyiz.biz website which charges mothers to pay low wages to migrant workers. In the new, ways of being dominating over migrant domestic laborer are explained under the claim of nationalism. However, civil society organizations mentioned that all domestic workers should out from being invisible labor, not only Turkish ones. Representatives of CSOs invite all women associations, trade unions, civil society organizations to protest the implication. In 18 December Saturday, at 14.00 press releases will be mentioned while in 23 December Thursday criminal complaint will be applied in Sultan Ahmet Courthouse.
For Hate Crime Law
Social Change Association and DurDe Initiative started a campaign named “Hate Crime Law” includes festival against racism, discrimination, and hate crime; and activities on “hate” in media; and international conferences about hate crime. Taşkın Tankut Soykan, from Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, mentioned that new law bill on hate crime will be prepared in the conference and will be presented to parliament.
