3,000 People in LGBTT Pride March
On Sunday, a crowd of 3,000 marched from Taksim to Galatasaray Square as part of the 17th LGBTT Pride Week.
The 17th LGBTT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transvestite and transsexual) Pride Week ended with a Pride March in Taksim, central Istanbul, on Sunday (28 June).

5th Annual "Hormoned Tomatoes" Awards
LGBT groups in Turkey have announced the yearly "awards" ceremony for LGBT-phobic comments.
The tradition of awarding the "Hormoned Tomatoes" awards started in 2005 with a sentence uttered by Erman Toroğlu on a TV show. He said, "Those who eat hormoned chickens will turn gay," by colloquially referring to genetic mutations of artificially grown edible goods as "hormoned." This comical statement is unfortunately an example of attitudes that reinforce prejudices against LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender) persons that sometimes end in hate crimes and murder.

Seven hundred mentally disabled athletes from The Turkish Special Athletes Sports Federation were also present and received acclaim from a wide range of audiences.
