This book has been prepared to show the perspectives of NGOs active in seven distinct areas of service: human rights, the environment, gender, youth, people with disabilities, children, and culture/ cultural rights. These groups also constitute the target group for STGM, or Civil Society Development Center. The goal of this book is to present the achievements and contributions of Turkish NGOs to civil life. The information in this book should act as a good resource for understanding and assessing the current situation of the seven areas of service explored in this book in the Turkish context. Through this book, one will find that even though NGOs constantly face challenges, especially in the monetary nature, civil society organizations in Turkey are improving and changing in many different ways, and are adding meaning to civil life locally and internationally.
