Description

The Project Assistant will be required to work on two new projects.

The first one is an 11-month project in 2016 and 2017 funded by Consulate General of Sweden. The project aims to advocate broadly young people’s sexual & reproductive health rights (SRHR) amongst young people, NGOs, media and policy makers in Turkey. The work will take %60 of the time of the Project Officer.

The second one will run by the end of 2018 with multiple funding agencies to support activities to prevent violence against children in Turkey. The work will take %40 of the time of the Project Officer.

The Project Officer will be based in ICC’s Office in Bilkent University, Ankara, and will be required to conduct travel to project provinces across Turkey. The Project Officer will report directly to the Heads of Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Programme and Child/Human Rights (CRP) Programme of ICC for respective project activities and will work in close collaboration with other ICC staff if/when necessary.

Duties and Requirements

Duties

  • Monitor all project activities as per ICC and donor requirements, and participate in developing and conducting project activities.
  • Oversee and coordinate production of all materials, as well as their distribution and all related logistics.
  • Work closely with the Finance and Administration Officer on all financial matters regarding the project, in full compliance with financial procedures of the donors, including financial monitoring and reporting.
  • Provide input in and contribute to drafting project narrative and financial reports, as per donor requirements.
  • Help maintain institutional relations with relevant authorities and NGOs.
  • Represent ICC in relevant meetings, forums, and events.
  • Work on other ICC projects, when required.
  • Other duties as reasonably requested by the Heads of SRHR and CRP Programmes.

Requirements

  • University degree in social sciences with minimum of 2 years’ experience in project management in planning, financial management, monitoring, evaluation, report writing, administration and logistics.
  • It is an asset to have relevant knowledge and experience in the area of gender and child rights, including working on projects related to sexual and reproductive health of young people.
  • It is an asset to have experience in liaising and working with government bodies and officials, as well as with NGO partners and local authorities and communities, including youth.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, but also assume responsibility and work independently.
  • Experience working in compliance with donor rules and regulations, especially in terms of finance, monitoring and reporting.
  • Good command of English, both written and verbal.
