The Research on Violence Against Women in Turkey, conducted jointly by Ayşe Gül Altınay and Yeşim Arat, examines how violence against women is defined, perceived, and what kind of struggle methods civil society and the state have developed.

The report was prepared by interviewing nearly 150 women from approximately 50 women's organizations from 27 provinces. It also shows that in the fight against violence, women impose important responsibilities on the government, local administrations, state institutions, laws and courts to intervene in this field.
