In the report published by Positive Life Foundation which is drawing with the help of 120 lawyer adviser, notable results are revealed.
It is claimed that HIV-positive people are faced with 162 human right violations in their life. Total number of human rights violations is more than the number of cases. Law adviser of Positive life Foundation Habibe Yılmaz Kayar interpreted the report: “Health institutions are the area that applies mostly discrimination for HIV-positive people. HIV status should not defeat the right for surgical operation which is a basic constitutional right.”
Furthermore, Kayar emphasize that in addition to health sector, working life is getting difficult because of HIV diagnosis of the worker. Also, HIV-positive individuals are being isolated from their social environment.
In comparison to 2007 and 2008 report, it is observed that the right violation is performed to HIV-positive people is increased in 2009.
