We are reorganizing the Research Techniques for Advocacy in CSOs Webinar with extended sessions

We will be reorganizing the "Research for CSOs: Qualitative Data for Advocacy" webinar that we organize within the scope of the "Capacity Building Center Project for Civil Society" supported by the European Union (EU). The webinar will be expanded with enhanced content and will be divided into three separate sessions.

In May 2023, we initiated an introductory webinar on research techniques for evidence-based advocacy titled "Research for CSOs: Introduction to Qualitative Data for Advocacy."

In this context, we will have three separate webinars with Associate Professor Dr. Derya Göçer, focusing on the three main components of research approach and techniques for CSOs: "Research Design," "Data Collection Methods," and "Data Analysis and Reporting." During these webinars, we will delve into the relationship between data and advocacy and discuss in more detail how we can utilize research to fulfill our mission and vision.

What are the webinar dates?

  • Advocacy - Data Relationship: Friday, June 9, 2023, 11.00-12.30
  • Research Design and Data Collection Methods: June 14, 2023, 11.00-12.30
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Friday, June 16, 2023, 11.00-13.00

Why should you attend these webinars?

As CSOs, when we aim for a change in any issue, field or policy, advocacy is one of the activities we carry out to realize this change.  When we do evidence-based advocacy by supporting these efforts with data, we can transform information and data into an effective argument, reach decision-makers through various communication channels and have a persuasive power.

On Friday, June 9, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, we will organize the first webinar titled "Advocacy - Data Relationship." During this webinar, we will discuss the role of data in advocacy, why we need data, research design, and literature analysis.

On Wednesday, June 14, 2023, between 11.00-12.30 on the second webinar titled Research Design and Data Collection Methods, we will discuss research ethics, research method selection and qualitative methods: interview, focus group and observation.

In the third and final webinar on Data Analysis and Reporting, which will be held on Friday, 16 June 2023, 11.00-13.00, we will focus on data analysis, qualitative coding, qualitative data visualization, timeline, process mapping, neighborhood mapping, code pattern visualization and good practices.
