2026 Grant Call from Culture & Animals Foundation: Support for Animal Rights-Focused Projects

Culture & Animals Foundation (CAF) has announced the opening of its 2026 grant call for academics and artists committed to animal rights. The foundation will support creative, performative, and research-based projects aimed at transforming the relationship with animals and strengthening animal rights advocacy.

Program objective

CAF aims to contribute to the animal rights movement through works to be produced in the fields of art, performance, and research, and to encourage critical and in-depth approaches to human–animal relationships.

Special Collaboration for 2026

For 2026, in collaboration with the American Anti-Vivisection Society (AAVS), two special grants will be awarded for projects that critique or reframe scientific discoveries.

Who can apply?

The grant program is open to:

  • Academics, artists, and activists with a strong commitment to animal rights,
  • Individuals producing projects under the themes of creativity (art), performance, or research.

Applicants are expected to demonstrate confidence that they can complete their projects on time and within the determined budget framework.

Grant support and budget

  • The maximum grant amount per project is $5,000 USD,
  • The total grant budget for 2026 has been announced as $40,000 USD.

It was stated that applications requesting a budget exceeding $5,000 or that do not provide a detailed budget and timeline will be automatically rejected.

    •    Application period: January 1, 2026 – January 31, 2026
    •    Applications will only be accepted during these dates.
