AlgorithmWatch, a non-profit research and advocacy organisation, is accepting applications for its Fellowship Programme to support projects that investigate the societal impacts of automated decision-making (ADM) systems.
The programme supports a broad group of journalists, academics, activists and technologists in conducting a six-month project examining the impact of ADM systems on society, with the aim of encouraging critical and in-depth work in this field.
AlgorithmWatch, which will be awarding grants for the fifth time under the Algorithmic Accountability Reporting programme, is open to applications from those with research ideas on the relationship between artificial intelligence and power and its consequences.
Who can apply?
The programme is open to individuals or small teams from around the world, with no geographical restrictions. Eligible applicants include:
- Journalists
- Academics and researchers
- Civil society activists
- Technologists and software developers
Support and opportunities
- Financial Support: Selected fellows (experts accepted into the programme) receive a scholarship/grant to cover project expenses (the amount may vary depending on the call period).
- Other Support: During the project, AlgorithmWatch team members provide mentoring, access to the organisation's network and, upon request, workspace in their Berlin offices.
