Applications for the “40 Years of Remembrance” Scholarship Program Are Now Open

Civil Society Research Association (STAD) has launched the “40 Years of Remembrance” Scholarship Program, which it has been laying the groundwork for over a long period. Inspired by the saying “A cup of coffee is remembered for forty years,” the program aims to provide young people with not only financial but also multi-dimensional support on their educational journey.

The "Has 40 Years of Remembrance" Scholarship Program has been designed as a holistic support model that, in addition to providing monthly financial aid to its scholars, also offers career counseling, psychosocial support, and a strong social network. The program aims to help young people both realize their individual potential and connect with fields where they can contribute to society. To this end, youth will be brought together with a social network comprised of professional volunteers. The support offered within the program includes the following: 

Financial Support

  • Monthly scholarship of 2,000 TL
  • Semesterly support of 1,500 TL for course materials

Career Development

  • Career counseling and mentoring starting from the second term of the scholarship program
  • Training sessions twice a month
  • Practical workshops

Psycho-Social Support

  • Psychological counseling
  • Emotional resilience training

Application Requirements

Candidates wishing to apply to the program must:

  • Be a citizen of the Republic of Turkey,
  • Be a full-time undergraduate student in preparatory, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year at a public university in Ankara or Istanbul,
  • Have a minimum academic GPA of 2.75/4.00,
  • Not be receiving any scholarships or financial aid from any institution other than KYK bursary/loan.

  • Transcript (for preparatory and 1st-year students, a document showing academic status)

  • Document indicating English proficiency
  • Documents showing parents' income status
  • Certificates, awards, commendations, and letters of reference

Evaluation Process

Applications will go through a multi-stage evaluation process including preliminary screening, detailed review, interview, and announcement of results. The process will be conducted based on the principles of equality and transparency.

During the technical evaluation phase, the program team will check for eligibility and verify documents, and may request additional documentation if necessary. Each application will be scored by two independent evaluators; in case of a significant difference between the scores, a third expert will join the process. At least double the number of available scholarship slots will be invited for interviews for a final assessment.

To ensure a transparent evaluation process, this year only up to 100 applications will be accepted into the program.
