Applications for the Goethe-Institut International Co-Production Fund 2026 Have Started

Goethe-Institut has launched the 2026 “International Co-Production Fund” call to support creative collaborations that transcend boundaries in the performing arts. Turkey-based artists and groups developing joint projects with artists in Germany will be eligible for grants of up to 30,000 euros to cover production costs.

Applicant: The main applicant's place of residence and work must be outside Germany. (Independent artists, collectives, and initiatives based in Turkey are eligible to apply).

Partnership Requirement: The project must be carried out in a dialogue-based collaboration with an artist, collective, or institution (theatre, production house, etc.) based in Germany.

Fields: Theatre, dance, musical theatre, performance arts, and interdisciplinary projects.

Support Amount: Grants between 15,000 and 30,000 Euros are provided per project.

What is covered?

Artist fees, travel expenses, accommodation, production materials, and technical costs. (The grant covers up to 75% of the total budget; 25% co-financing is expected).

Not Eligible: Commercial projects, organizations solely intended for touring, film productions, or exhibition projects (unless they include a performance element) are not supported.

2026 Application Schedule

The fund accepts applications twice a year:

  • Period (Spring): January 15 – April 1, 2026 (Project start date: from July 1, 2026).
  • Period (Autumn): July 15 – October 1, 2026 (Project start date: from the beginning of 2027).

How to apply?

Applications are submitted in English via the Goethe-Institut online portal. The application file must include: artistic vision, the roles of the partners, detailed budget, and timeline.
