Applications open for the Young Legal Professionals Training

The Third Sector Foundation of Türkiye (TÜSEV) is organizing a Young Legal Professionals Training within the scope of the “Monitoring Freedom of Association-II Project,” implemented with the financial support of the European Union. The training will take place on 4 October 2025 in Istanbul, led by Assoc. Prof. Ulaş Karan from Istanbul Bilgi University. The application deadline is Sunday, 21 September 2025, at 23:59.

The Young Legal Professionals Training aims to strengthen the knowledge, awareness, and capacity of law students, trainee lawyers, and newly qualified lawyers in the field of freedom of association. The program seeks to enable participants to learn the basic concepts of civil society, gain insight into the functioning of associations and foundations, become familiar with national legislation and international standards, and engage with current legal debates. Designed as an interactive learning process, the training will combine theoretical content with practical examples.

Who can apply?

  • 3rd or 4th year law students
  • Trainee lawyers
  • Lawyers who have obtained their license within the past two years

What awaits participants?

  • Familiarity with the basic concepts of civil society
  • Knowledge of the functioning of associations and foundations
  • Understanding of national legislation and international standards on freedom of association
  • Engagement with current legal debates
  • Interactive sessions combining theory and practice

Important Note: The training will take place in Istanbul as a full-day event on 4 October. Applications from outside Istanbul will only be accepted if applicants cover their own travel and accommodation costs.
