Purpose and Scope of the Program
The program aims to support rights organizations in developing their institutional capacity and strengthening their impact through a two-year institutional grant and capacity development program. A tiered grant system will be applied according to the institutions' 2024 revenues.
- Those with income below 1,500,000 TL: 25,000 - 35,000 Euros.
- Those with income between 1,500,000 TL and 7,500,000 TL: 45,000 - 53,000 Euros.
- Those with income between 7,500,000 TL and 20,000,000 TL can request: 65,000 - 75,000 Euros.
Within the scope of the program, it is planned to distribute a total of 2,775,000 Euros to at least 55 rights organizations.
Project Duration: The implementation period is 24 months (between March 1, 2027 - February 28, 2029)
Supported Activities / Fields
The program is implemented as institutional support, not as a project grant. Therefore, CSOs may request funding for fixed institutional expenses and core activities aimed at their own objectives.
- Staff salaries, office rent, and general expenses.
- Advocacy work, reporting, documentation, networking, and visibility/communication activities.
Important Restriction: Institutions must plan to secure additional funding (generate extra income) of at least 10% of the grant amount requested. In addition, sub-grant distribution, charity work, humanitarian aid, building/vehicle purchase, debts/interests, and individual scholarships are strictly not supported.
Eligibility Criteria (Who Can Apply?)
- Institutional Status: Associations, foundations, and non-profit cooperatives established in Turkey before July 1, 2024 may apply.
- Financial Capacity: The institution’s official financial statements for 2024 must show annual income below 20,000,000 TL.
- Experience and Priorities: Must have carried out at least one activity aimed at promoting human rights in Turkey in the last two years. Discrimination, Minority Rights, Women’s Rights, and LGBTIQ+ Rights are identified as priority working areas. Geographically, priority is also intended for organizations operating in the Eastern and Southeastern provinces.
