The Autumn School, which will be held in Izmir between October 4-10, 2026, has been prepared for university students, postgraduate researchers, and recent graduates. While focusing on the relationship between gross human rights violations and individual and societal trauma, the program aims to strengthen human rights advocacy on the basis of knowledge and intervention.
The one-week program will cover topics such as the international human rights regime, gross human rights violations, the social dynamics of violence, trauma, torture, enforced disappearances, prisons, human rights advocacy, truth-building, and examples of successful advocacy through seminars and workshops.
Who can apply?
The program is open to:
- 3rd and 4th year students of four-year undergraduate programs (for Medical Schools, 5th and 6th year students),
- Master's and PhD students,
- Graduates who completed their undergraduate or postgraduate education in 2021 or later
Applicants must reside in Turkey. The program is open to applications from all academic disciplines.
Participants' transportation and full board accommodation expenses will be covered by TIHV. The number of participants is limited to 20.
