Program Objective
The K4A Program aims to produce and disseminate evidence-based, policy-oriented research addressing different dimensions of intercultural dialogue in the Euro-Mediterranean region. The program seeks to transform knowledge generated by universities, think tanks, and specialized centers into concrete policies and practices that benefit civil society.
Research Topics
Selected authors are expected to address one of the following topics and focus their work on an intercultural dialogue approach from a clear Euro-Mediterranean perspective:
- Higher education partnerships and academic mobility in the Common Mediterranean Area
- Inclusive skills policies for green and digital transformation
- The role of culture, sports, and sustainable tourism in creating shared narratives
- Local government–civil society cooperation and youth participation in governance
- Inclusive entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystems
- Human-centered digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and data economies
- Intercultural dimensions of green and blue transformation
- Sustainable transport and connectivity corridors
- Evidence-based policy making and shared knowledge platforms
- Human-centered approaches to disaster preparedness and resilience
- Intercultural dialogue in migration governance
- Peace, security, and trust building through youth and civil society cooperation
Provided Support
Selected authors will receive:
- €700 (net) for the preparation of a Policy Brief,
- Up to €500 (net) to support participation in an Academic Dialogue event organized to disseminate the research.
Payments will only be made after deliverables are submitted and approved; no advance financing will be provided. Selected works will be published by ALF and shared through civil society dialogues at the Euro-Mediterranean level.
Application Process
Applicants must submit a one-page concept note in English in Word format (Calibri 11pt) during the application. The concept note should include:
- Title
- A brief explanation of the theme, issues, research objectives, and added value
- The study’s relevance to the Euro-Mediterranean region
- Anticipated cooperation with and roles of civil society organizations
Applications cannot be saved as drafts and no changes can be made after submission. Each individual can only submit one application for this call.
Who Can Apply?
- Those affiliated with a university, think tank, or a specialized center
- Citizens of one of the 43 member countries of the Anna Lindh Foundation
