Call for Applications: Human Rights Fellowship Programme for Turkish Young Generations

EuroMed Rights has started to receive applications for the ‘Turkey Human Rights Fellowship Programme for Young Generations’ to support young human rights defenders in Turkey. The deadline for the three-month programme is 23 June 2025.

About the Fellowship

EuroMed Rights, in cooperation with İHD and KAGED/İHOP, is offering a Human Rights Fellowship Programme designed for young Turkish human rights defenders. This 3-month opportunity provides international experience, professional development and access to a global human rights network.

Purpose

  • Develop the fellow’s capacity in human rights advocacy in Türkiye
  • Engage in practical work including monitoring, research, advocacy and communication
  • Focus on issues like personal security of defenders, gender equality, impunity and torture

Tasks

  • Assist with activities under the Türkiye Programme
  • Contribute to research and reports
  • Develop communication materials and assist advocacy work
  • Support logistics for meetings and events
  • Assist with training programmes and fundraising initiatives

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be aged 18–28
  • Hold Turkish citizenship
  • Have experience in human rights (volunteer or professional)
  • Be fluent in English or French
  • Show commitment to human rights and social justice

Priority will be given to candidates from underrepresented or diverse backgrounds.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Human Rights, International Relations, Law or similar
  • Excellent research, communication and organizational skills
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written)
  • Working knowledge of Turkish
  • Proficiency in MS Office
