Call for grant program proposals for civil society organizations to strengthen women's access to justice in Turkey

Within the scope of the “Strengthening Civil Society Capacity in the Area of Women’s Access to Justice” project, carried out under the joint program of the European Union and the Council of Europe where the Union of Turkish Bar Associations is the main beneficiary, a grant call has been launched for NGOs operating in Turkey.

Within the scope of the project, it is planned to provide up to ten (10) grants to national and local CSOs for the implementation of projects aiming to support access to justice for women in vulnerable situations, raise awareness in this field, and strengthen support services for women. The implementation period for the supported projects should be between six months and one year.

Grant beneficiaries will be selected from among civil society organizations registered and operating in Turkey. Priority will be given to applications from civil society organizations operating in regions with a high concentration of women in vulnerable situations, and in particular, from those submitting projects aimed at supporting the access to justice of women in vulnerable situations in the project’s pilot provinces of Afyonkarahisar, Bilecik, Bitlis, Burdur, Tokat, and Yalova.

The supported projects are expected to focus on women’s access to justice and include the provision of legal information and legal counseling services. In this context, applicants are required to cooperate with bar association(s). These collaborations are expected to enhance the effectiveness of activities to be carried out within the scope of the grant, the accessibility of services, and the sustainability of the support provided. Cooperation with municipality(ies) is also encouraged in order to develop inter-institutional cooperation at the local level and to ensure a more coordinated implementation.

Application deadline and detailed information

Applications must be submitted before 1 October (by 16:00 Turkey time). Applications received after the above-mentioned date will not be considered.
