Call from the Memory Center: Support for Creative Ideas Defending Freedom of Assembly

The Memory Center has begun accepting applications for its “Collaborative Production Workshop for Freedom of Assembly,” organized as part of its “Square: Reclaiming Freedom of Assembly and Public Space” project, carried out with the support of the European Union. Applications will be accepted between September 18 and October 31, 2025.

The workshop aims to support creative ideas for defending freedom of assembly. Twenty participants will be selected from the applications and invited to a two-day meeting in Istanbul in January 2026. Ten participants will be from Istanbul and ten from other cities. Travel and accommodation expenses for participants coming from outside Istanbul will be covered.

Throughout the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to develop their ideas, either individually or in groups, using collaborative production methods. Experts from different disciplines will mentor the process. At the end of the workshop, a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 projects will be selected to receive support from a total budget of 45,000 euros.
