The European Forest Institute has announced a call for support to establish pilot projects focused on "Climate-Friendly Forestry" and forest restoration across Europe, placing citizen and stakeholder engagement at the center, through the FORWARDS project.
Program Objective
The aim of the call is to generate practical evidence on how climate-friendly forestry and restoration approaches affect forest operations, contribute to combating climate change, and support biodiversity. A core component of the projects is to ensure the active participation of citizens and stakeholders (such as local communities, forest owners, etc.) in forest management processes.
Who Can Apply?
- Legal Entities: Research institutes, universities, NGOs, forestry organizations, public institutions, and private companies.
- Organizations based in countries eligible under the Horizon Europe program (including Turkey) are eligible.
- Applications may be submitted either individually or as a consortium. Natural persons (individuals) are not eligible to apply.
Grant Support
The maximum grant amount per project is €150,000. In total, 5 projects will be supported (total budget €750,000).
The maximum project duration should be 12 months.
