The Closing Meeting of the "Söz Gençlikte" Project is on February 26 in Ankara

Within the scope of the grant program of the "Strengthening Civil Participation for the Development of Democratic Local Governance in Turkey Project" conducted by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP); the closing meeting of the "Youth Has a Voice" project, implemented under the leadership of the Youth Services Center (GSM) and in partnership with Mezitli Municipality and Seferihisar Municipality, will be held in Ankara on February 26, 2026.

Within the scope of the 14-month project, activities were carried out to support the more active and equal participation of young people in local decision-making processes. In this regard, the “Youth Rights-Based Urban Governance Model for Inclusive and Sustainable Cities” was developed to strengthen the institutional structures of municipalities from a youth-friendly perspective.

During the project, Civil Participation Trainings were organized for young people and civil society organizations; City Council Simulations were held to enable young people to experience democratic processes. With the “Youth Have the Say” campaign, dialogue channels were created for young people to communicate their demands to local administrators.

At the closing meeting, the achievements obtained during the project, field experiences, and the transformation brought about by the developed model at the local level will be discussed. The program will also include methods to strengthen youth-friendly municipal governance for sustainable cities, as well as good practice examples from Europe and Turkey.
