Continue Change Starts with Me Workshops

The Association for Struggle Against Sexual Violence is still accepting applications for the 'Change Starts with Me' sexual violence basic awareness workshops. The workshops are open to applications from institutions/groups from all over Turkey.

What is the content of the workshop and who can apply?

Module.1 DATE VIOLENCE AND SAFE RELATIONSHIPS

Content: Dating violence; definition and forms, concepts, common myths in society, characteristics of safe relationships, protective-preventive approach, combat and intervention methods

Target audience: Professionals working with young people, such as psychological counsellors, psychologists, social workers, lawyers and field workers (CSO, CRC, municipality staff).

Module.2 PROTECTIVE AND PREVENTIVE APPROACH TO SEXUAL ABUSE

Content: Sexual abuse; definition and forms, rights-based approach when working with children, consent and boundary concepts for children, protective-preventive approach, combat and intervention methods

Target audience: Professionals working with children, such as psychological counsellors, psychologists, social workers and field workers (NGO, CRC, municipality staff).

Module.3 SEXUAL VIOLENCE, CONCEPTS AND METHODS OF STRUGGLE

Content: Sexual abuse; definition and forms, rights-based approach when working with children, consent and boundary concepts for children, protective-preventive approach, methods of combat and intervention

Target audience: Professionals working with children, such as psychological counsellors, psychologists, social workers, field workers (NGO, CRC, municipality staff).

Module.4 FIGHTING SEXUAL VIOLENCE AGAINST ANIMALS*

Content: Forms of discrimination, speciesism, definition and forms of sexual violence against animals, social perceptions and concepts, freedom of animals, rights-based approach, struggle and responsibility

* This module is organised in cooperation with HAKİM (Animal Rights Monitoring Committee).

Target audience: General

Module.5 RIGHTS-BASED JOURNALISM IN THE FIELD OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE

Content: Gender and LGBTI+ concepts, myths about sexual violence, rights-based journalism, empowering language and approach, reporting on sexual violence, using the right language and media responsibility

Target audience: Media professionals, media and communication students
