CultureCIVIC: Culture and Arts Support Program Local Projects Grant Program Applications Are Now Open

The Local Projects Grant Program aims to support individuals and organizations with limited access to funding sources, extending beyond major cities. The program supports projects that strengthen local cultural and artistic production, create societal impact, and are based on rights-based approaches.

At least 16 of the 24 projects to be supported during this call period will be selected from cities other than Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir.

Who can apply?

• Non-governmental organizations with or without official status based in Turkey,
• Initiatives,
• Individuals who wish to develop projects in the field of culture and arts on a non-profit basis.
• Applications may be made with co-applicants and/or associates.
• Applicants are expected to document at least 2 years of activity in the field of culture and arts.

Types of projects supported

Applications can be submitted with projects developed in the following areas:

• Online and print publishing, journalism
• Documentary production
• Collection and archival work
• Concert, performance, theater, and film productions
• Exhibitions
• Workshops, seminars, symposiums, and training programs

Priority themes

During the evaluation process, priority will be given to projects focusing particularly on the following areas:

• Rights-based work
• Activities bringing together actors from different ethnic, religious, and linguistic backgrounds
• Gender equality and LGBTI+ rights
• Social cohesion
• Human rights
• Freedom of expression
• Children’s rights
