The Network for Check and Balance (DDA), which includes nearly 300 civil society organizations, has issued an appeal titled "We demand demand the cancelation of the denunciation of the Istanbul Convention."
Pending the State Council's final decision on the Istanbul Convention annulment by the President's decision, the Network for Check and Balance said, "We hope that the annulment decision will be annulled." "We reiterate that we are party to the Istanbul Convention," and warned that abandoning the Istanbul Convention would reverse the limited progress made in preventing violence against women and further exacerbate the problem.
