A year has passed since the earthquakes of February 6. The defenders of the child rights have published a statement under the motto #wefollowthechildren. The statement recalls that children have been subjected to various forms of neglect and rights violations from the February 6 earthquakes to the present day and states: "As defenders of child rights, we are witnesses to all of this; we remember, we do not forget and we do not forgive!"
The child rights defenders also called on the political government to urgently fulfill the requirements of a holistic and rights-based child protection policy to prevent similar neglect and rights violations from happening again in disaster and crisis situations.
