The Guzum Project opens up a discussion on democracy, gender equality, and human rights violations through fashion. At the Democracy Fashion Show, to be held in Eskişehir in November, unused clothing and waste fabrics will be repurposed by young designers, highlighting fashion as an area of freedom of expression. Young designers selected for the fashion show will take to the runway with their own designs.
Who can apply?
- Designers and young artists aged 18–35 can apply.
- There is no requirement to have design training, be a university student, or have a professional background.
- Only ideas, drawings, and portfolios will be evaluated in the applications.
How will the process work?
- October 1–5: Evaluation of applications and feedback
- Workshops and meetings: Preparation process with selected designers
- Topic selection: Joint determination of democracy violations
- Production: Realization of designs through “bodiless and genderless” clothing
- November: Democracy Fashion Show to be held in Eskişehir
Participation Conditions
- Participation is free of charge.
- Full participation in workshops and meetings is expected.
- Applications must be made individually.
- A portfolio and resume must be submitted.
- Residence in Eskişehir is not required.
