
The talks, which will feature researchers, artists, and academics working in the field of memory studies, are open to anyone interested in rethinking individual and societal relationships with the past. The conversation series offers a space for learning and sharing that brings personal journeys together with collective memory.
The series includes two separate talks:
Anahid Nazarian's Journey to İncesu and Cücün

Anahid Nazarian, an Armenian born in the US with roots in Kayseri, will open the series. She will share her personal impressions from visiting her grandparents' villages of İncesu and Cücün in the Kayseri region, as well as her family history.

Carolyn Rapkievian's Journey to Harput and Beyond
Monday, June 23, 5:00–7:00 p.m.
Carolyn Rapkievian will recount a unique journey she took with her sister to the villages of their grandfather Hovaness (John) Okoomian. This journey, which spans from Husenig (now Ulukent) village near Old Harput (now Elazığ) to Kayseri, Germir (now Gesi North), Talas, Rumdikin (now Felahiye), Sivas, Tokat, and İzmir, will see Carolyn share her family stories from before 1915, the research process she undertook during a period marked by so much loss, and how identity continues to take root in a place despite years of separation.
