Displaced Communities Livelihoods Initiative 2026 – Round 5 Applications Are Now Open

The Displaced Livelihoods Initiative (DLI) program, conducted in partnership between Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) and the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), with support from the IKEA Foundation, has announced its fifth and final call for proposals for 2026 to support evidence-based research aimed at strengthening the livelihoods of refugees and displaced communities.

Within the scope of the program, research and implementation grants ranging from 20,000 to 250,000 USD are provided, depending on the type and scale of the project. In this round, new support mechanisms such as “Evidence Use Grants” and “Conference Travel Grants” have also been introduced.

Supported projects include impact evaluations (RCTs), pilot implementations, and policy analyses focused on strengthening economic integration for refugees, asylum seekers, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and host communities. Themes such as resilience, employment, entrepreneurship, social cohesion, and access to legal rights are among the priority areas.

Academic researchers, NGOs collaborating with these researchers, and field implementation institutions can apply to the program. Studies to be conducted on refugee communities in Turkey are eligible. In this round, special application pathways have also been opened for refugee-led organizations (RLOs).

The application process consists of two stages:

  • Letter of Intent (mandatory): May 15, 2026
  • Full Application: July 24, 2026
