Embassy of Japan: Grant Program for Local Projects

Within the scope of the Embassy of Japan Local Projects Grant Program, new term (2024) project applications are planned to start in November 2023.

"Grant Program for Local Projects (GGP)" has been implemented by the Japanese Government in underdeveloped and developing countries within the scope of "Japan Official Development Assistance (Japan ODA)" since 1989. The aim of the program is to provide non-refundable financial assistance to development-oriented projects designed to meet basic human needs.

Main Accepted Project Topics

Projects should be aimed at meeting basic human needs, targeting disadvantaged segments of society. Accepted project topics are as follows.
Education
・Vocational training centers, professional skills development programs
・Within the scope of creating a safe environment in accordance with educational standards; primary school construction, primary school repair projects.

Basic Health: Improving general health services, renewing the equipment of health centers, providing medical equipment.

Disabled people: Providing private schools, education centers and transportation vehicles for the disabled.

Women in Development: Providing vocational training centers to support women in developing their professional skills and earning income.
