The event, which will take place in the form of three half-day meetings, aims to bring together more than 50 CSOs from Turkey working with volunteers in various thematic areas. In addition, a Final Report will be prepared, which will compile the discussions held during the event and recommendations for the establishment of a favorable legal framework for volunteering in Turkey. The three half-day events will cover topics such as the conceptual framework of volunteering and will introduce good examples of the legal environment conducive to volunteering in Turkey. In addition, the event will feature CSOs from at least three countries that have developed a legal framework for volunteering, and from various thematic areas, with their voluntary management and orientation mechanisms. The event will provide an opportunity to share experiences and will consist of parallel subgroup studies as well as panel sessions with different speakers.
The main objectives of the event are:
To provide a space for sharing experience in volunteering as well as different volunteer management and orientation mechanisms;
- Discuss existing legal frameworks, ethics, and codes of conduct regarding volunteering;
- Discuss with the participating CSOs the barriers to volunteering and existing volunteer management and orientation mechanisms developed by different CSOs;
- To discuss what a legal framework should be for volunteering in Turkey, and what the opportunities and limitations might be in drawing up a legal framework for volunteering.
Three half-day events on active citizenship, civic initiatives, and volunteering will be held online. The event will be held in Turkish or a simultaneous translation service will be provided during the event.
The event targets a variety of CSOs, including volunteer-based CSOs and/or CSOs working with volunteers; citizen initiatives; community-based organizations; recently established civil society networks, etc.
