EuroMed Rights – Institutional Support Programme Applications Now Open

Applications are now open for the EuroMed Rights – Institutional Support Programme, which aims to strengthen the institutional capacities of civil society organisations working in the field of human rights in Turkey. Funded by the European Union as part of the ‘Strengthening Civil Society in the Fight Against Impunity’ project, the programme will provide small-scale financial support of 2,500 euros to a total of 15 organisations.

Objectives and priorities

The programme aims to support the sustainability of organisations working in the field of combating impunity and to strengthen their institutional capacities. Applications from organisations operating in provinces other than Ankara, Istanbul and Izmir are particularly encouraged.

Application conditions

  • Associations and foundations with legal personality in Turkey are eligible to apply.
  • Individuals may apply in collaboration with an NGO.

Priority thematic areas are as follows:

  • Personal security and protection
  • Fighting impunity
  • Torture and ill-treatment
  • Accountability mechanisms
  • Freedom of expression, association, and assembly
  • Gender equality
  • Prison monitoring

Types of activities to be supported

  • Institutional capacity building (training, workshops, panels, etc.)
  • Monitoring and documentation activities
  • Awareness-raising and visibility campaigns
  • Strengthening local civil society networks
  • Field research, report and publication production
  • Court observation activities
