Free Training Program for Participatory Democracy from the European Commission

The European Commission's Center of Competence for Participatory and Deliberative Democracy (CC-DEMOS) is launching a free online training program for personnel working in local, regional, and national public administrations, as well as organizations that provide capacity-building services to public administrations. The training aims to strengthen citizen participation through co-production and deliberative processes.

The training will be conducted in three levels according to the participants' experience level.

  • Basic Level: A quick start for public officials who want to understand and implement participatory processes.
  • Advanced Level: In-depth training for those who want to design participatory processes that create impact with more comprehensive knowledge and skills.
  • Training of Trainers (ToT): A specialized program designed to develop the skills of experts working with public administrations to teach and disseminate citizen participation processes.

The training will be conducted in English, Polish, and Danish; ToT will be conducted in English only. The programs will be hosted on the EU Academy platform and will combine self-paced learning with moderated live sessions.
