The Halton Foundation has announced its 2026 grant call to support projects aimed at improving indoor environmental quality (IEQ) and human well-being worldwide. The program, which seeks to create more sustainable and healthy indoor spaces through scientific partnerships and research, offers a significant funding opportunity for non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and research institutions.

Purpose and scope of the program

The program aims to support innovative solutions and research that improve human health and quality of life in indoor environments.

Depending on the scope and long-term impact of the proposed research, projects can be designed as single-year or multi-year (up to a maximum of 2 years).

No specific budget upper limit is specified in the announcement text; it is expected to present a clear budget summarizing how the funds will be used at the time of application.

Supported activities / fields

Projects to be funded under the grant are expected to focus on the following topics.

  • Projects that improve indoor air quality, thermal conditions, or the direct health of building occupants.
  • Scientific research that documents and examines increases in human well-being in enclosed environments.
  • Development of new feasible solutions to provide enhanced indoor environmental quality (IEQ).
