HRFT Launches Empowerment Program for CSOs in the Earthquake-Affected Region

The Human Rights Foundation of Turkey (HRFT) has launched the “Post-Earthquake Empowerment Program for Civil Society Organizations Engaged in Human Rights-Based Activities in Adıyaman, Hatay, and Kahramanmaraş,” as part of its solidarity efforts with CSOs operating in regions still affected by the February 6 earthquakes. The program aims to address the capacity losses, organizational challenges, and region-specific socio-economic vulnerabilities faced by CSOs.

In its program announcement, the Human Rights Foundation of Turkey (HRFT) emphasized that even two and a half years after the earthquakes, the effects of the devastation continue in the region. It underlined that in particular, in Adıyaman, Hatay, and Kahramanmaraş, deficiencies in physical infrastructure, migration movements, the economic crisis, and political pressures pose serious obstacles to human rights-based work, and that civil society in these provinces operates under much more challenging conditions compared to other regions.

The program will be carried out within the framework of the principles of solidarity, mutual trust, and collective empowerment.

Applications are open until 30 September 2025.
