ÜniKuir Academy is calling on young queer individuals, LGBT+ activists, and campus communities to reshape media production with its “What Kind of Journalism” workshop series, which will take place during the summer. The online workshops, which will begin on Saturday, July 5, and Tuesday, July 8, are a continuation of the Media Studies and Sociology seminars previously held under the umbrella of ÜniKuir Academy. A total of 12 workshops will be held as part of the program.
Participants will gain basic knowledge and skills in the following areas:
- Gender-focused journalism
- Human rights journalism
- Alternative media in Turkey
- Digital media
- News gathering and writing techniques
- News photography
- Branches of journalism
With this workshop series, ÜniKuir aims to contribute to the creation of a more visible, inclusive, and resilient space for LGBT+ individuals in media production. Applications for participation will be accepted until June 22, 2025. Participants whose applications are accepted will receive an informational email on June 30.
