The International Press Institute (IPI) is continuing its series of trainings on the right to information, bringing together journalists and civil society organizations in Ankara. Titled “Right to Information: A Powerful Tool for Transparency,” the program aims to equip participants with practical knowledge on how to effectively use the right to information in their work.

The training will take place on Friday, 21 November 2025, between 16:00 and 19:00 at the Press House of the Journalists’ Association in Ankara.

The program will cover the scope and importance of the right to information, how to prepare effective requests, how to use the responses in journalistic and research workflows, the role of information requests in promoting transparency and accountability, and the legal remedies available when requests are rejected or left unanswered.

The session will be led by journalist Gülin Çavuş and lawyer Gökhan Tekşen, who will provide participants with both theoretical and practical insights. Through this interactive training, attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of how to make full and effective use of the right to information.
