As part of our Monitoring Freedom of Association II Project, supported by the European Union and carried out in cooperation with the Turkish Third Sector Foundation (TÜSEV), we will support the participation of three CSO representatives from Turkey in the World Democracy Forum organized by the Council of Europe.
Application schedule
csO representatives wishing to benefit from participation support covering transportation and accommodation expenses must complete the application form by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the latest. Accepted CSO representatives will be notified by email on Friday, September 12, 2025.
Before applying for STGM support, they must complete the registration form available on the official website of the World Democracy Forum.
Application criteria
- The CSO to be represented must be a rights-based CSO that conducts advocacy activities and campaigns at the local or national level, or has included such activities in its work schedule.
- It must be engaged in work that contributes to the international civil society agenda, or conduct monitoring and advocacy activities at the international level, or be preparing to do so.
- The applicant must carry out activities related to the topics included in the forum program on behalf of the CSO.
- The applicant must be proficient in English or French.
Evaluation criteria
The following criteria will be used in the evaluation. When filling out the application form, it is important to provide detailed information that will allow for a sound evaluation of the criteria listed below and to avoid using general statements.
- The application form must be completed in full.
- Alignment between the purpose of the application and the program.
- Regional distribution.
- Thematic distribution.
- Gender balance.
- Language proficiency and possession of a valid visa will be preferred.
Important notes
As no translation support will be provided during the event, NGO representatives applying to attend the Forum are expected to be proficient in one of the official languages of the Council of Europe (English and/or French). It is also preferable that participants have a valid passport and visa allowing them to enter France on the dates in question.
During the World Democracy Forum visit, daily expenses will be reimbursed to participants’ bank accounts after documentation of expenses is provided, up to a predetermined maximum limit.
If your application is accepted, a “letter of authorization” from the governing body of the organization you represent will be required, confirming approval for your organization’s participation in the entire program.
