The Joke Waller-Hunter Initiative (JWHI) provides personal development grants to help young environmental leaders in developing countries improve their leadership skills and knowledge.
JWHI support is aimed at directly increasing the capacity of individuals rather than financing an organisation's project.
Programme aim
The programme aims to enable young and talented environmental advocates to realise their potential.
The grant provided can be used for a wide range of personal development activities, such as courses, training, internships, experiential and exchange trips, and conference participation.
Who can apply?
- Candidates who demonstrate the potential and desire to become leaders in their fields.
- Individuals working with or affiliated with local communities, community-based organisations, or civil society organisations.
- Those with a strong background and commitment to environmental and sustainable development issues.
