Nature Research Association Looking for Colleagues

We are looking for a full-time project coordinator and project assistant within our association.

The place of duty for both positions is Ankara. However, it is necessary to be present in the areas where the project is carried out at various times. The tenure for both positions is 2 years.

Project Coordinator/Project Executive

It is preferred to have taken part in and/or carried out EU projects, to have worked voluntarily and/or professionally in non-governmental organizations related to nature protection, to know Turkey's nature and nature protection activities.

Qualities expected from candidates

  1. Graduated from a University,
  2. Experienced in project management and reporting
  3. Willing, constructive, and patient in communication,
  4. Compatible and experienced in teamwork,
  5. Planning, problem-solving and organizational skills,
  6. Fluent in English (English level will be assessed as speaking and writing during the interview),
  7. Able to use Office programs well
  8. Compatible with intense work tempo and flexible working hours,
  9. Able to build strong relationships with people
  10. No travel restrictions
  11. Having a Class B driver's license and being able to drive,
  12. To have done military service for male candidates.
  13. Respecting cultural diversity; not discriminating against language, religion, or race

Job description

To ensure that the project for which he is responsible is carried out under the established business plan and budget and that it achieves its goals.

Major Obligations and Responsibilities

  1. Being responsible for the coordination of the project and representing the project in all areas
  2. To ensure that the budget allocated to the project is spent within the knowledge and approval of the General Coordinator under the project requirements and expenditure rules.
  3. To ensure that the project team and consultants carry out targeted activities following the business plan and budget.
  4. Ensuring the timely preparation of technical and financial reports related to the project and presenting them to the General Coordinator (Board of Directors and project partners when necessary).
  5. Coordinating relations with project partners and project team; to create a complete communication and cooperation network and to ensure that it is carried out healthily.
  6. To provide technical and managerial support to the project team, to make the necessary arrangements for them to work with the highest efficiency, and to supervise their operability.
  7. Developing and directing relations with project stakeholders and various interest groups.
  8. To prepare the job descriptions and contracts of the project consultants following the project job description.
  9. To turn the ideas developed in the program he is affiliated with or in his field of expertise and interest into applicable projects.
  10. To work with other association personnel within the framework of respectful relations and to carry out the duties assigned to him by the association in harmony and cooperation.
  11. To initiate and develop the relations envisaged by the project with the project partners, funding organizations, international organizations related to the field of work, public institutions, local administrations, and non-governmental organizations, and ensure that they are carried out healthily.

Project Assistant

Taking part in nature conservation projects, working voluntarily and/or professionally in non-governmental organizations, having knowledge about Turkey's nature and nature conservation activities are preferred.

  3. Open and willing to learn,
  4. Compatible and experienced in teamwork,
  5. Ability to plan and organize,
  6. Fluent in English,
  7. Able to use Office programs well
  8. Compatible with intense work tempo and flexible working hours,
  9. Able to establish strong and effective relationships with people,
  10. No travel restrictions
  11. Having a Class B driver's license and being able to drive,
  12. To have done military service for male candidates.
  13. Respecting cultural diversity, not discriminating against language, religion, or race.

Job Description

Assisting the project manager to ensure that the project is carried out as scheduled.

Major Obligations and Responsibilities:

  1. Fulfilling the tasks defined in the project (if any).
  2. Preparing correspondence drafts related to the project; regularly filing copies of correspondence.
  3. Making meetings and travel organizations related to the project.
  4. Supporting the preparation of necessary documents for training and information activities.
  5. Accompanying the project coordinator and other experts during field visits.
  6. Informing those who want to get information about the project, local people, local administrators, special visitors, etc. 
  7. Keeping the interest groups' interest in the project alive, to organize events.
  8. Preparing monthly briefing reports on project work and present them to the project coordinator/executive.
  9. Supporting the Project Coordinator/executive in the preparation of technical and financial reports related to the project.
  10. Fulfilling other duties assigned by the project manager.
  11. Build and maintain strong relationships with local government agencies, local stakeholders, and the media.
  12. Being in communication and solidarity with other project personnel when and where the project requires.
