The Needs Map launched the “Volunteer Map” to strengthen the culture of volunteering and increase the capacity of civil society in disaster risk management, as part of the Supporting the Capacity of NGOs in Disaster Risk Management Project, funded by the European Union and implemented by us. The Volunteer Map brings volunteer activities together in one central location, allowing organizations to publish volunteer opportunities and volunteers to explore organizations based on their areas of interest and find matches.
The Volunteer Map will connect organizations and institutions in need of volunteers with individuals who want to volunteer. The platform will bring together individuals aged 18 and over who want to volunteer with organizations and institutions that need volunteer support.
The Volunteer Map aims to play a key facilitating role, particularly during disasters and crises, through its map-based approach, and to strengthen the culture of mutual aid and solidarity.
Some data from the Volunteers Map:
- Over 100 volunteers are actively seeking to participate in the work of organizations.
- With over 94 areas of expertise, volunteers can offer their diverse skills to organizations.
- Any individual over the age of 18 can join the Volunteers Map and participate in volunteer activities.
