The European Union has launched a new call to encourage equal participation in all areas of social life for people of all ages and with different types of disabilities. Projects supported under the Horizon Europe program aim to develop inclusive and people-centered solutions that strengthen the autonomy of people with disabilities.
Expected results
Projects are expected to contribute to at least three areas:
- Development of evidence-based policy approaches
- Inclusive practices in areas such as education, employment, culture, and housing
- Use of assistive technologies and artificial intelligence for accessibility
- Comparative analysis of policy and service options
- Solutions that promote integration between the public, NGO, and private sectors
Scope and research topics
Projects are expected to address the following themes.
- Accessibility of inclusive and community-based services and individualized support approaches
- The supportive role of families and their contributions as the first link in inclusivity
- The impact of inclusive education and lifelong learning opportunities (self-confidence, participation, quality of life)
- Comparison of the effects of special classes and inclusive approaches in education
- Employment, return-to-work processes, and labor market integration practices
- Inclusive and accessible housing solutions
- Increasing inclusivity through the use of artificial intelligence and assistive technologies
- Consideration of areas such as loneliness, emotional well-being, risk of abuse, mental health of caregivers, and risk of burnout
- Direct involvement of individuals with disabilities in civil society and projects
