The sub-project “Increasing the Capacity of Academia and Media to Strengthen Participation in and Demand for the Discourse on Children’s Rights,” implemented by İzmir University of Economics within the scope of the ACAR Project—carried out with the technical support of UNICEF and in cooperation with the Delegation of the European Union to Turkey—continues its civil society activities.
After activities held throughout 2025 targeting media professionals and digital content creators, the project is now focusing on strengthening the children’s rights-based communication capacity of civil society organizations. In this context, the third Civil Society Workshop to be organized will take place in Antalya on June 1–3, 2026.
What will be discussed at the workshop?
- Principles of rights-based communication
- Child protection standards
- Safe and dignified storytelling
- Ethical dilemmas encountered in field communication
- Building trust with communities
- Risks in digital environments and safe representation
- Developing advocacy messages and campaign design
- Platform-specific content production (Instagram, TikTok, Twitch, X, etc.)—participants will both gain theoretical knowledge and practical experience through case analyses and hands-on workshops.
Details about the workshop, which is open to applications from all CSO representatives working in the field of children’s rights, as well as information about the venue, will be shared in due course.
