There are two different grant levels within the program:
- Small Grants: 50,000 – 200,000 USD (up to 2 years)
- Large Grants: 200,000 – 1,000,000 USD (up to 3 years)
The supported projects focus on areas such as reducing nuclear escalation risks, preventing crisis instability and regional arms races, the relationship between multi-domain risks (cyber/space/artificial intelligence) and nuclear security, and the development of early warning systems and open-source data tools. Projects that strengthen nuclear risk management, policy development, crisis simulations, and international dialogue processes are also supported.
Non-governmental organizations, think tanks, university-affiliated research centers, and individual researchers can apply to the program. Participation from early and mid-career professionals is especially encouraged. Applications that include consortia and collaborations are also accepted. Eligible institutions and experts from Turkey may apply to the program.
