Open Call: Needs Analysis and Application for Strengthening Women's Leadership in Local Governments Programme

The application and needs analysis aims to identify the unique challenges and needs of women leaders elected in the 2024 local elections and to provide them with specialised training, workshops and mentoring support. 

By sharing your own needs with your application, you can contribute to the creation of the most appropriate content and support programmes for you.

What does the programme include?

• A training and mentoring programme that will be completely tailored to your needs (including but not limited to the following sample areas):
• Political communication, leadership, negotiation skills
• Good practice examples for women leaders in local government and developing local policies for equal participation
• Media visibility and public communication
• Support to policy-making processes and development of co-operation with municipalities and civil society

Who can apply?

• All women mayors, municipal council and provincial general assembly members who took office after the Local Government Elections in 2024 who want to strengthen gender equality in local governments.

How is the application process?

• The challenges and needs of the participants will be analysed by region.
• In a selected region, the programme content will be tailor-made in line with the applications.
