It is possible to come across Uğur Mumcu Neighbourhood, Uğur Mumcu Park, Uğur Mumcu Street or Uğur Mumcu monuments in many cities in Turkey. However, there is no comprehensive inventory to document and make visible all of these places under a single roof. The Uğur Mumcu Investigative Journalism Foundation is launching a major mapping initiative to fill this gap. The project aims to create a digital map by systematically documenting all the places named after journalist and writer Uğur Mumcu.
A volunteer training will be organised for those who want to contribute to this initiative. The training will cover mapping methods, data collection processes and documentation standards. The date and time of the training will be notified to volunteers who apply.
Those who want to participate in the study can apply for volunteering by filling out the application form.
