The Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area (PRIMA) has launched the 2026 application period for "Water Management in the Nexus," with the aim of supporting international research and innovation projects addressing water management and environmental issues in the Mediterranean basin.
There is no direct fixed budget limit within the scope of the program; the amount of grant each partner requests is subject to the rules and limits set by their national funding provider (for Turkey, TÜBİTAK).
Supported Activities / Areas
- Research and applications for the ecological restoration of dried-up or temporary-flow watercourses in the Mediterranean region.
- Development of innovative nature-based solutions that utilize ecosystem functions to improve water allocation management.
- Applied research projects aimed at reducing the impact of climate change on water resources.
Eligibility Criteria
- International consortia formed by at least three different independent institutions from PRIMA participating countries (participation of institutions from Turkey is open).
- Universities, research centers, NGOs, public institutions, and private sector representatives (SMEs).
- Partners from Turkey who will be included in the project are required to submit a national application to TÜBİTAK simultaneously with the international application.
