The Global Disability Fund (GDF) has launched an open call for small-scale, innovative projects under the Resilient and Inclusive Cities Hub (RICH) initiative, aimed at promoting inclusive and resilient urban environments for persons with disabilities.
Who can apply?
- International NGOs (INGOs)
- National Civil Society Organizations
- Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs)
- Development Banks
- United Nations Agencies
- Academic Institutions
Applicants are expected to have prior experience in disability inclusion and urban resilience and to have managed funds from UN or similar donors.
Eligible thematic areas
Projects must focus on one of the following themes:
- New Policy and Legal Models
- Adaptive and person-centered regulatory frameworks
- Innovative Financing Models
- Participatory budgeting, mobilizing private sector investment
- Innovative Service Delivery Approaches
- Integrated service models, personalized service delivery
- Low-Cost Inclusive and Climate-Sensitive Solutions
- Affordable assistive technologies, inclusive early warning systems, behaviorally-informed public space design
Grant amount and duration
- Average grant: USD 200,000
- Maximum project duration: 12 months
- Approximately 5 projects will be supported
Application timeline
- Call Opens: 1 May 2025
- Deadline for Submission: 1 June 2025
- Evaluation and Selection: June 2025
- Funding Disbursement and Project Start: July–August 2025
Application requirements
- Projects must be implemented at the city level and promote both inclusion and resilience.
- OPDs must be involved in the design and implementation of the projects.
- Projects should demonstrate scalability and replicability in other cities.
