The training aims to introduce participants to the right to information and demonstrate, through examples, how this right can be used to promote transparency and accountability. The training will cover how to prepare information requests, how to evaluate the responses received, and the legal avenues available in response to negative responses to requests.
The trainers for the training will be investigative journalist Elif İnce and Ahmet Kavruk, Project Network Coordinator at the Civil Society Association for the Penitentiary System (CİSST). Participants will have the opportunity to hear directly from both trainers about practical examples of how the right to access information is used in journalism and civil society work.
