The Spencer Foundation will be accepting proposals for its Small Research Grants program to support education research projects. The goal of the program is to fund high-quality, rigorous academic research on any topic and with any methodology relevant to the field of education.
Who Can Apply?
- Principal Investigators (PIs) and Co-PIs who have an earned doctorate.
- Proposals are accepted from applicants in the U.S. and internationally.
- The PI must be affiliated with a non-profit organization or a public/governmental institution that is willing to serve as the administering organization if the grant is awarded.
Grant Award
- Budgets are limited to a total of $50,000 USD.
- Eligible investigators (with a course load of 6 or more per academic year) may request an additional $10,000 for a course release.

- Applications Open: September 17, 2025.
- Full Proposal Deadline: December 15, 2025, at 12:00 pm (noon), Central Time.
