Scope of the program and amount of support
As part of this award, which is granted every two years, selected projects receive grants of up to EUR 100,000. The application process consists of two stages: concept note and full proposal.
Supported activities / fields
Projects that include implementation/action to reduce risks related to climate change and natural hazards (projects based solely on research are not sufficient).
Note: Risks arising from social unrest, war, chemical disasters or political crises, as well as commercial/business development activities, are excluded from the scope.
Eligibility criteria
- Non-profit organizations established in low or middle-income countries (according to the World Bank classification)—either local institutions or international organizations with an office in the project region—may apply.
- Individual applications are not accepted; only institutions/organizations are eligible.
- Multi-stakeholder initiatives are welcome, but there must be one clearly defined lead institution.
All proposals must be submitted in English.
