Scope of the Program and Grant Amount
Projects selected as a result of the evaluation process will be provided with a maximum cash grant support of 30,000 Euros. The Foundation has reduced the application periods, which were twice a year, to once a year as of this year, and this window is the single call period for 2026. Candidate projects will be finally selected after review by the scientific board, and then a global public vote and a vote by EOCA members.
Supported Activities
Projects submitted under the grant program must include the following three basic elements:
- Hands-on Conservation: Activities for the protection, restoration, and enhancement of biodiversity in carbon sink habitats (forests, wetlands, peatlands, etc.) implemented directly in the field.
- Benefit to Local People: The project must make a tangible contribution to the local community's livelihoods and ecosystem services.
- The Outdoor Link: Establishing a clear connection between nature conservation activities and outdoor enthusiasts (hikers, mountaineers, campers, etc.).
Who Can Apply?
Institutions applying to the program must meet the following criteria:
- Be registered as a non-profit organization (association, foundation, etc.).
- NGOs operating globally and located outside of North America (USA and Canada) (including Turkey).
Important Note: Projects focused solely on academic research, data collection, or just conferences/trainings are not supported under this fund.
Institutions must complete their first-stage (short) applications no later than March 31, 2026 (02:00 TRT) via email.
